I don't have much time to write, but we're in Cayuga Medical Center. Richard O caught a stomach bug on Friday, and while we fought valiantly for 3 days to keep him out of the ER, on Sunday night we drove up to University Medical Center to get him rehydrated. Then, after less than 24 hours at home, we had to take him BACK to the hospital (this time the CMC) to get him rehydrated and his blood sugars elevated, as he is now completely unable/unwilling to take any food or drink by mouth with the notable exception of nursing.
In short, this has been a nightmare. I am battling so much on so many fronts, and getting so very tired. The bulk of today has been spent trying to begin the process of getting Richard O. admitted to a feeding rehabilitation center. At the moment it looks like we'll either wind up in Baltimore, MD at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, or at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Paterson, NJ. I don't know how long we'll be at one of these places, but I don't imagine that it will be a quick visit.
Well, I had better get back to the room. Mom has Richard O. sleeping in her arms at the moment. Prayers and good thoughts are appreciated.
